Principal of the School: Jimmie Brown
Dear NOCCS Families,
It is an honor to introduce myself as the new principal of NOCCS. I am excited to join this extraordinary school community! I arrived in NOCCS as a seasoned elementary teacher and building administrator. In addition to my role as an educational leader, I am first and foremost a father.

The 2022-2023 school year will mark my 16th year in education. Since graduating from Southern University A&M College in Baton Rouge Louisiana, I have served communities in under-resourced schools in Louisiana and as a tenured administrator in Atlanta, Georgia. Although I have always felt at home in the classroom, it is in my position as an elementary administrator where I have been most fulfilled in my life’s work. As an administrator, it provides me the chance to work collaboratively with teachers on a daily basis, while also remaining connected to young students learning and growing in the classroom.
I firmly believe that every child can excel and that the partnership between home and school builds confidence in students to use their powers to shape their future and the future of our community and nation. I bring a belief that the students are at the center of all school-related decisions. I am excited to bring my experience, my openness to learn, and my child-centered approach to support our students. The relationships between families and the school are vital to the success of our students. I look forward to the collaboration and support we will be able to give each other.
I vow to give my all to our students and will request the same efforts from our staff and school community. Together we will continue to move NOCCS students through a rich learning environment guided with love and support toward a bright future. With my goal of continuing the tradition of excellence here at NOCCS, I am committed to always exploring new ways to meet the needs of all students and to more effectively communicate with parents and community members.
To our students and families, I cannot wait to meet you! I hope that you are excited for this coming school year and that you are enjoying summer through playing, reading tons of books with your family and friends, and feeling joyful and rejuvenated. It is going to be a fun year learning together. If you are near the school at all this summer, please stop by and say hello!
